December 8, 2025, Hell’s Bay Boatworks announced on their website, that Amera Trail, my preferred trailer manufacturer from Harmony, Florida, is now available as one of their OEM trailer options.

I fully agree with the rationale: investing in a custom-built Hell’s Bay skiff means it unquestionably deserves a custom trailer, crafted with the same care, precision, and craftsmanship as their Skiff or Bay Boat itself.
Hell’s Bay Boatworks emphasizes that Amera Trail trailers are engineered to “mirror the exact lines of our hulls,” offering a fit that’s “like a glove.” and having seen my share of trailers as well as taken a tour of their new fatality with Scott Locke their founder not long ago, I agree 100% with that assessment!
For their hulls, depending on factors such as size and launch design intent, etc. Hell's Bay provides custom trailer configurations for their Skiff's with many features (most) would consider as options, as their standard equipment package.
These include custom welded aluminum channel frames, torsion Dexter Vortex Hub axles (with a 5 year-no touch warranty) also equipped with a spare tire, LED lights, and generous welded bunks. Additionally, they feature a stainless jack and winch, poly rollers and bump pads, stainless hardware, and walk-boards. These all work on concert on the Skiff models for dry launching which helps greatly to extend their life. This as well as taking advantage of smaller or lesser known ramps or maybe better stated, water access points along the side of some back road... My lips are sealed if you care to share some of those spots! 😉

Why This OEM Option is Attractive...
Some of what sets the Hells Bay/AmeraTrail standard trailer for 2026 apart from all others:
1. The trailer is fully welded aluminum and engineered to custom fit its intended hull.
2. The frame rails are made from a proprietary channel (AZ Soft Edge) that is different than any other, includes an inner wall that creates more structural support, a chase that no longer requires screws or wire straps, and is designed to improve manufacturing efficiency which helps in minimizing cost.
3. All frame rails are drilled on their automated beam line that ensures all fasteners and attachment points are precise in diameter and angle.
4. All cross-members are robotically jigged and welded for consistency.
Every Hells Bay Skiff trailer is equipped standard with:
AZ Soft Edge frame rails
Stainless Steel Hardware and Fenders
LED Lighting (closed loop ground that feeds directly back to the tow vehicle vs. grounded to the frame)
Dexter Vortex Hub Axles (w/5 year-no touch warranty)
Aluminum wheels and radial tires (includes balancing beads)
Spare tire & Mount
Bow stand with Power Winch (brand) and Stoltz roller
18” Stoltz keep roller
Padded low side guides
Walk-board to assist in launch and loading
Large front and rear fender steps
Backlit Hells Bay logo on the step
Every hull is engineered to rest as low as possible on the trailer

Amera Trail also has great support and after-sales service. With a 24 hour online parts ordering system including maintenance items, to keep your trailer in top shape for years! Don't see the part you need on their online catalog? Not a problem, grab a picture of it and submit it through the online parts request form found by clicking Here: or just drop them an email at Parts@AmeraTrail.com
Now some may say "That is great Dave, but I am not in the market right now for a new Skiff." Totally understand and how is your current trailer really holding up?
Has it gotten to the point that it is just not logical to throw any more money at it... Been there, and done that myself and (some) lesson's are learned the hard way many times, this while broken down on the side of the road in 90+ degree heat with the sky turning as black as the ace of spades, and lighting bolts flying all around... 🙄
Amera Trial can help you make those trips much less stressful and safer by having them build a new trailer for your current Skiff that you love, or in the process of refurbishing either to keep or sell! Here are a few example video's that will give you some ideas and very possible, they already have the layout specs on the computer in their engineering department.
Lastly, as a Web Developer myself, I am big fan of their website and all programming efforts that went into it! It is professionally built like the rest of their operations. This unlike other pages that are void of much information or as in the case of some... Just totally offline.
Big thanks to Scott Locke and Jason Norris VP of Sales for all the help with this one! Do feel free to reach out to them on the links above and let them know, that Flats Nation sent you!
