The late great Jose Wejebe gave us terrific tips on how to load the spool and attach the leader to slippery and thin braided lines. I have always first loaded the spool with some mono as a base before the braided line, but having one less knot that could fail by using Jose's tape method here, I do see an advantage for sure!
I also like how Jose attached his mono leader to his main line. The knot he employed looks to be even stronger and simpler than what I normally use... 😎
And many thanks and shout to Krissy over at the Jose Wejebe Memorial Foundation (she is just awesome) for allowing us to use and sharing of the content for this one!
Flats Nation is looking forward to working with Krissy to help keep Jose's memory alive, along with the causes and conservation efforts over the years both on and off his much-loved and missed to this day, TV show!
He was such a fine ambassador for our sport of Flats Fishing and our Great State, as well as the other places he took us each Saturday Morning around the World that many of us, will never get a chance to Fish ourselves, but got to experience it though him as our, TV Guide!

And of course our Music Director here on Flats Nation (who played with Jose) and you can read more about him, and the HUGE impact that he has with our Vibe here on The Nation by clicking Here will attest... It is music that gives it that feel!
Well, and here is a clip of Jose (also) playing guitar that you may enjoy and remember back on some of the show clips over the years that Jose shared with us all!
Thanks, Jose; we miss you Brother!
In the meantime,
We invite you to take in a few Flats Nation Podcast Episodes to help "Scratch that Fishing Itch" when working or traveling and you cannot hitch up the Skiff and go by clicking Here:
